Russian cosmonauts and an astronaut stationed at the International Space Station are soon to receive their 2.5 tons of daily required amenities – be it oxygen, water food, books, movies or scientific equipments. Thanks to the Soyuz-U booster rocket that successfully lifted off from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at its scheduled time of 7:25 a.m.

Mounted atop the rocket is the Progress M-60, and they are now, on the designated preliminary orbit, as Russia’s Federal Space Agency informed in a statement. Russian cosmonauts Fyodor Yurchikhin and Oleg Kotov and U.S. astronaut Sunita Williams are the present experts on board the ISS.

The ship is supposed to moor at the orbiting outpost, after a series of maneuvers are made to adjust its orbit to that of the station.

The spaceship, besides carrying other cargoes, is also taking ‘living creatures’ to the ISS. No, they are no humans, but snails! Yes, the 50 snails are being delivered for the experts’ biological experiments.
