moonsky

The moon is a fascinating object to observe. Every time there’s a full moon, I always think that it is a part of the earth. Well, the latest theory states that the moon was formed after colliding with the earth and as a matter of fact, the earth’s moon is one of a kind planetary body.Statistics show that about 10 to 20 solar systems only host similar moons like Earth.

Experts believe that the moon was formed after a pretty nasty planetary collision. Technically, when a moon collides and forms there should be dust all around. However, we never saw dust around the stars due to moon formations, which is kind of interesting. This is what astronomer Nadya Gorlova of University of Florida discovered.

The previously mentioned fact was published in the Astrophysical journal. The team of astronomers have been busy with the moon formation studies. Planetary scientists like Gorlova as well as Rieke think that baby solar systems are more than likely to form moons between 1o to 50 million years after a star is formed! I think this statistics is just shocking.
