As we all know that this planet has four large moons and dozens of small ones including the most volcanically active body in the solar system named “Io”. The spacecraft captured the pictures of a volcanic eruption taking place. Pictures also include the never-before-seen closest look yet at the Earth-sized “Little Red Spot” storm, churning materials through Jupiter’s cloud tops. Some pictures throw light on dust and boulders hurling through Jupiter’s faint rings.

NASA scientists are quiet happy with the fine performance of this piano-sized robotic probe carrying seven cameras capable of capturing anything that comes into site. It is expected to reach Pluto in 2015 and is expected to produce the closest-ever views of Pluto and hundreds of other icy objects in the distant Kuiper belt region.
