NASA has finished developing a fully modified Boeing 747 airplane that is way too advanced than the contemporary 747. NASA has confirmed that this fully transformed airplane is meant to scrutinize cosmos during flight. The scientists at NASA will test fly this Boeing 747 at the Flight research center at Edwards Air Force Base, California.

Last Thursday the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, SOFIA, was transported to the NASA’s Dryden center; earlier it was situated at Waco, Texas. This Scientific Observatory and Research Center has been well equipped with a German built 2.5-meter infrared telescope. This telescope picks up infrared spectrum to analyze the universe / Space.

The following three years would bring hectic and tight schedule for the modified Boeing 747 as in would be used to carry out Space-mission related tasks and navigational procedures. This fully accomplished airplane will manage Astronomical expeditions for NASA in the year 2010. NASA has made it a lethal- deadly machine that can encounter any mission-related crisis. The Space Agency is looking forward to it’s launch for the good.

The airplane would serve the Space Agency for at least 20 years, and during it’s tenure it would manage and accomplish “Great Observatory” class Astronomical Science. Researchers may find this airplane a handy tool for analyzing the invisible “infrared and sub-millimeter spectrum” with high precision and most advantageous performance in the mid-infrared to sub-millimeter range.
