Science and Mathematics are increasing their horizons dramatically. But, who are going to appreciate and implement them? And realize their denotations and significance? NASA, the hot bed for research output on elements and happenings beyond the horizons in the outer world has partnered with motion picture makers Columbia TriStar Marketing Group, Inc., Culver City, California, and Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, to engage students in science and mathematics.
Creating resources for educators that spark student imagination, encourage interest in space exploration, and enhance the elementary science curriculum is the basic goal of the partnership. The book and movie “Zathura’ features from educational materials that tie into science concepts. This is going to benefit the school students. Zathura, keeps kids on the edges of their seats and gets them thinking about science and technology. As students see things like comets and meteors in an exciting space adventure, they have the opportunity to introduce them to the science behind them. The partners’ message is that students who pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics could live their own future outer-space adventure.
