A brown dwarf companion (bottom left) was also surrounded by a disc

Cosmic objects, 100 times smaller than our Sun may be orbited by mini planetary systems, according to scientists. These relatively small cosmic objects - planemos, are found with circling with discs of gas and dust. These discs are needed to create such planetary systems.

How do we define the word - planet?

All definitions of it till date will be challenged if the discs can evolve larger aggregations of material. This work was presented at Canada’s American Astronomical Society meeting. European Southern Observatory (ESO) telescopes helped the scientists with this study.
