ISS can now have some sigh of relief since some of the computer lanes that crashed on Wednesday have come back to life and are working according to their potential. This has again raised some hope that these will not crash in future.
Four of the six lanes that comprise the computer were up and running. According to NASA it will only be after 24 or 48 hours that the computers can be termed as reliable.

These computers are in the Russian segment of the $100 billion ISS. NASA also stated that Russians had bypassed circuits that led to the failure. Atlantis crew will now bring back the computer lanes that are still not functioning. These will then be repaired by the Russians and will be delivered back to the space station in a future mission which Russians will have to undertake.
The computers control the space station’s positioning in space and draw power from the Sun. They also maintain proper temperature and position antennas so that the ISS can remain in contact with ground controllers. These computes have been made in Germany and also control several life saving systems aboard the space station. Failure of these systems means that the space station has to be temporarily evacuated, a thing that NASA would never want.
