After a nine-day visit to the International Space Station, the space shuttle Discovery prepared for a return back to earth. If the weather is favourable and the shuttle passes final inspection, it is supposed to land today at Kennedy Space Centre in Florida shortly after 11:00pm AEST (9:00am local time).
Steve Frick, NASA mission control communicator told Discovery that the weather “looks generally pretty good” for it’s touching down on Monday. He further informed broadcasting from Johnson Space Centre in Houston “They are showing a chance of showers... It gets a little worse as the day goes on, so we’re hoping the early morning works out for us.”
