Discovery is ready to take off for the first space shuttle flight in nearly a year. But, the clouds in the forecast raised doubts if it can lift-off the launch pad this weekend.
The clouds capable of producing lightning provide a 60 percent chance of preventing the launch during the 10-minute window Saturday afternoon. Kathy Winters, shuttle weather officer informed this. Though the forecast remained the same for Sunday and Monday, it was expected to deteriorate later in the week.
