Space explorations and navigations have taken a giant leap and have given mankind all those state of the art technological breakthroughs that we could never even think of. In order to increase the mankind’s survival possibilities ’space explorations’ are a must. In regards to this a lot of space scientists and astronauts are organizing space walks and interplanetary navigational programmes.
International Space Station Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria is about to touch down on earth after being in a 210 day space orbit. He is scheduled to be reaching by Friday. His landing program has been rescheduled due to unfavorable landing conditions in Kazakhstan. The TMA-9 spacecraft is destined to bring them back on earth. Lopez-Alegria will be accompanied by two more astronauts - engineer Mikhail Tyurin and space tourist Charles Simonyi.
We got to hear from one of the spokespersons from NASA that-’the capsule will land northeast of Arkalyk which is southeast of the usual landing site in Kazakhstan. The landing was delayed a day and moved farther south because wet ground at the initial site precluded helicopter operations there.”
Up till this date Lopez-Alegria has successfully accomplished 10 space walks which has made him and his country proud. The total time he has spent in the space walks is somewhere around 67 hours and 40 minutes. But the person who tops the list regarding the number of space walks is still Mr. Anatoly Solovyov, a Russian cosmonaut. He has accomplished a mammoth 16 space walks.
Space lecture
A former Apollo 16 astronaut John Young, who is termed as the ‘last man to walk on the moon’, is about to give a lecture on space programs at the Newport Beach. He will be giving a speech on ‘Preservation and Survival of Space Exploration and Earth’s Future.’ Certainly this lecture would throw some light on the upcoming NASA innovations too. The venue for the lecture is chosen to be the esteemed Radisson Hotel, 4545 MacArthur Blvd, Newport Beach. I am looking forward to attend this ground breaking space discussion and missing it is not an option for me.
